For many of us, this is the highlight of year as a member of our chapter. Over the next few weeks we will spotlight the very best of what it means to be Italian Americans. From the opportunity to volunteer along-side my fellow UNICAN’s as we stage for Festa. To celebrating with food, fun and music for 3 straight days! To bowing our heads on Sunday giving thanks for all that we have. To the excitement of getting up close to the machines of my boyhood dreams. To the closing ceremony of our scholarship presentation. My heart will be overflowing and I cannot think of a better place to be, and I truly wish you the opportunity to share the weekend with us!
UNICO Scholarship Dinner—This year our chapter is able to give away $62,500 in scholarships to stu-dents pursuing their post-secondary education. Our first opportunity to celebrate these recipients will be Wednesday May 21st at the Jewel Event Space. UNICO invites all scholarship recipients to have dinner with us and our membership and bring their families. UNICAN’s are welcome to bring any guests, but guests are not free for this event. This is wonderful opportunity to meet our recipients in person and con-gratulate them on their hard work. Cocktails will be at 6pm with dinner at 7pm. This meeting agenda will be reduced to our invocation and recognition of our scholarship recipients.
Scholarship Dinner RSVP—This month’s dinner we require all UNICAN’s to pay in advance online.

Festa Italiana—Please mark your calendars for all 3 days May 30th, May 31st and June 1st. We have so much to enjoy and celebrate, with a little something different each day. Entertainment is already up on our website, so please share with your friends and family!
This is our biggest event of the year, and volunteers will be needed starting on Thursday May 29th for set up, all day Friday prior to Festa start, then all 3 days during the working hours of Festa. We need your help, so please sign up for a volunteer shift with our volunteer coordinator, Joe Nastasi.
Heritage Committee—The Heritage committee will be staffing the Memory Booth at Festa all 3 days. Please make sure to stop by the Heritage booth and connect with them. They have been working hard to bring some new things to the booth this year so please stop in and connect with them.
Bring a potential member— Festa weekend is a great time to introduce your friends and family to our UNICO officers so stop by the UNICO booth anytime all weekend. The June monthly meeting is also a good time to bring a potential member with you as your guest to dinner. Our Chapter covers the dinner expense for all 1st time guests you have invited as a potential member.
