September is upon us and the weather seems to be up and down. Hopefully this finds you keeping dry, or warm, or cool, whatever needed to combat the regional temps that are thrown at us on a daily basis. For the Cucchiara family, the kids are already running with school activities after school events, and my oldest has started her first year of college. She is doing great… day not so much.
Annual Dues—if you have not yet submitted your $80 Annual Dues, you can pay these in one of several ways—in person at our dinner meeting (either cash or check), Online through our website www.unicokc.com by clicking on the “Donate Button” on the main page, OR Via check to: UNICO Kansas City, 3008 NE 102nd Ter, KCMO 64154
Heritage Committee— they continue to do great work, so please check out our Heritage page on the UNI-CO website for regular updates. Currently we have links set for two different trips to Italy they have put together offered to family and friends of UNICO.
Italian Heritage Day at the K— Sunday 9/21 the deadline has been waived, and we will sell our reserved block of tickets until they are gone on a first come, first serve basis. These tickets are at a discounted rate vs. buying directly through the Royals. Ticket quantities are limited so don’t wait to purchase.
Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino— the ladies of UNICO have coordinated a fun event for all to attend. This is open to both men and women, so don’t miss this great opportunity to bring your significant other for a full day of excitement.
Donna Picone Texas Hold’em Tournament— a fundraiser is being held to support the Picone family with Donna’s health battle on Saturday October 11th. Please contact Carmen Poeta at 816-810-3026
Jaspers October Dinner— this will be our first dinner meeting at Jaspers. Cost for this dinner will be $30 per person for this event and while guests are welcome, guests will need to pay for their dinner. Also, only dinners paid in advance online through our website will be collected. No RSVP’s without full payment up front will be accepted for this dinner.
Christmas Dinner— mark your calendars for Saturday December 13th for our Annual Christmas Dinner. Location TBD, but your significant others are welcome to join you for this event.
Adopt A Family for Christmas— The holiday season is around the corner, and it’s time to start thinking about Christmas giving. Each year UNICO looks to adopt families in need over the holidays, so if you know of any friends or families of Italian Heritage that might be in need this season, please reach out to me. We can keep the giving as confidential as needed.
